What is hypnosis?
Hypnosis is a state of deep relaxation and heightened concentration in which positive suggestions reach the subconscious directly. It is a natural method of changing old behavior patterns, releasing fears and establishing new, healthy habits.

Where does the name hypnosis come from? Basically from the Greek god of sleep "Hypnos". However, the connection to sleep is wrong, because you don't sleep in hypnosis! The wrong derivation can be explained by the fact that at the time when hypnosis became popular, the term hypnosis was already in widespread use and could no longer be changed.
What isn't hypnosis?

- Does it have to be quiet? No, because you will always be aware of noises in your surroundings, but they will not disturb you.
